Harry Nilsson - Driving Along

I’ve been meaning to do a Nilsson post ever since I saw this documentary, Who Is Harry Nilsson (And Why Is Everybody Talkin’ About Him), on Netflix. I’ve grown up listening to him but never had a full appreciation for him until watching it. If you’re not a fan or are unfamiliar with Nilsson, do yourself a favor and watch the doc. Then go get the album “Nilsson Schmilsson.” You’ll be hooked. His melodies, his voice, his playfulness are infectious. No wonder The F’n Beatles declared him their favorite American artist. 

If the track above doesn’t have you interested take a look at this clip. It’s Harry performing for the BBC. The song has multiple harmonies so he recorded it in three takes so that he could be shown as the backup singers. Super creative.
